Hi,
I gave up smoking on April 10th. I found a nice tool here

http://smokefreequitmeter.com

that tracks how long since you quit and how much you have saved! Pretty cool.

So I invite others to use this to also track their progress.
Post the links here so we can all view. Good luck!

There are hundreds of reasons to stop smoking and it is in the news every day telling us how bad it is for our health. I have gone through hundreds of different reasons that are given by magazines, TV, health professionals and the internet and I have managed to put together the top ten reasons why you should quit smoking now, today!

1. The main reason that people quit smoking is the fact that you will extend your life longer, a lot longer. By smoking you are opening your self up to a tonne of different diseases, there have been medical researches done that proves that there are strong links between smoking and the following diseases ; heart disease, lung cancer and strokes.

2. Money; The average person who smoke twenty cigarettes a day spends around $7 a day if not more depending on the brand you smoke. Think if you put that money in a jar rather than spending it on a packet of twenty how much money you would save in just a week let alone a year!! In a week you would save around $49 to $70, in a year that would be $2548 to $3640. Just think what you could spend that on!!

3. When you quit smoking you instantly will find your lungs will become clearer. Over time you will find they get clearer and clearer so you will be able to enjoy a life of better more fulfilling exercise. Exercise is very healthy and the longer you will be able to exercise for! Think of all of the extra pounds that you can loose by quitting smoking!!

4. When you quit smoking your taste buds will suddenly find a new lease of life, everything will suddenly taste a million times better!! You will find that you will have to put less salt on food to enhance the taste, which is also is another good healthy choice. We are always being told to cut down our salt intake.

5. When you smoke you prematurely age your skin. Smoking makes your skin become dry and more prone to spots and wrinkles. Even if you have been a long term smoker you can help improve the look of wrinkles and fine lines.

6. Smoking not only covers your taste buds and destroys them it also impairs your sense of smell. When you quit smoking your sense of smell also returns, you will marvel at the smell of flowers, fresh baking bread and newly cut grass!!

7. When you light up you feel as if you are puffing your cares and stress away. What you don’t realise is that you are actually putting stress on your body because the heart of a smoker beats faster than that of a non smoker.

8. Smokers are also more prone to getting ill as their natural defences are weaker than those of a non smoker. Once you quit you will find that you will be less likely to catch colds, coughs and flu viruses.

9. Smoking is an addiction which is just as strong as any drug takers need, it is just that yours is for nicotine, so dump the cigs and take control of your life your body and your mind forever!

10. You will also smell better! I’m not saying that you use a rubbish perfume or deodorant, it is just that the smell of smoke clings to everything; your hair, your clothes and even your breathe. By quitting you will smell fresher and more attractive!!

Hello world!
